Japan’s Honda Motor Co [[HMC]] [[HNDAF]] has announced today that it will unveil the concept model for its new small-size vehicle at the Auto Expo 2010 that will be held in New Delhi, India from January 5 ~ 11, 2010. Honda is targeting India and other emerging nations with the small-size vehicle which will compete against the Tata Nano and Toyota EFC.
Honda will join rival Toyota Motor Corp [[TM]] , which is also unveiling its ‘EFC’, or entry family car, for the first time at the expo.
“Honda New Small Concept is a concept model of a new small-sized vehicle, which Honda is currently developing especially for India and other emerging nations,” the company’s Indian subsidiary Honda Siel Cars India (HSCI) said in a statement. The 10th Auto Expo, 2010 begins from January 5.
In addition to the New Small Concept, the company will exhibit the CR-Z Concept 2009, a concept model for a new hybrid model, which was unveiled for the first time at the Tokyo Motor Show in October this year.
“At Honda, we believe in constant innovation to offer advanced technology that only makes our cars fun to drive but also addresses the ever increasing concern about the environment,” HSCI Director (Sales & Marketing) Tatsuya Natsume said, adding the displays would focus on bringing alive the spirit of dynamism.
Besides the concept cars, Honda will showcase its humanoid Robot, ASIMO and a special display zone — Design Corner — that will provide a glimpse of the elements involved in designing a car from scratch.
