By Amarendra Bhushan for CEOWORLD Magazine Updated:April 13, 2009
Anheuser-Busch InBev NV, the world’s largest brewer, is exploring the sale of its Rolling Rock brand, the Wall Street Journal reported.
The report specified that the company sounded out potential bidders for Rolling Rock, a pale lager sold in distinctive green bottles, early this year through investment bank Lazard Ltd., but wasn’t satisfied with any of the offers. The report noted that the company remains interested in selling Rolling Rock.
The Leuven, Belgium-headquartered company purchased Anheuser-Busch for $52 billion in November.
InBev sold Anheuser-Busch the iconic Rolling Rock brand for $82 million in May 2006 and reacquired it when it bought Anheuser-Busch for about $52 billion last year.
The maker of Stella Artois, Beck’s and Budweiser remained interested in selling off the Rolling Rock brand, the report said.
