Synchronize Outlook and Apple iPhone or iPod touch contacts:
1. Connect your iPhone or iPod touch to your computer using the cable provided with your device or by placing the iPhone or iPod touch in the Apple Universal Dock.
iTunes opens automatically when connected to your computer.
2. In iTunes, in the source list, under Devices, click the entry for your iPhone or iPod touch.
3. Click the Info tab.
4. Under Contacts, click Sync contacts from, and then click Outlook.
5. Do one of the following:
* To synchronize all contacts, click All contacts.
* To limit the contacts that are synchronized, click Selected groups, and then click the groups you want to synchronize.
6. Click Apply.
If you are using a Microsoft Exchange Server account and have more than 500 contacts, all contacts might not synchronize unless you use Cached Exchange Mode. To turn on Cached Exchange Mode, see Turn on or off Cached Exchange Mode.
Turn Cached Exchange Mode on:
1. On the Tools menu, clickAccount Settings.
2. On the E-mail tab, click the Exchange Server account, and then click Change.
3. Under Microsoft Exchange server, select the Use Cached Exchange Mode check box.
If you are unable to turn on Cached Exchange Mode, one or more of the following might apply:
* You do not have an Exchange e-mail account in your Microsoft Outlook profile This feature requires that your Outlook profile contain an Exchange account.
* Your Exchange administrator may have disabled this functionality Exchange administrators have the ability to disable this feature in Outlook. For more information, contact your Exchange administrator. Additional information for administrators is available in the Microsoft Office Resource Kit.
* You have installed Microsoft Terminal Services Cached Exchange Mode uses an Offline Folders file (.ost). This file cannot be used if you have installed Microsoft Terminal Services for Microsoft Windows 2000 Server or Windows Server 2003. However, installing the Terminal Services Client or the Remote Desktop Connection client does not prevent access to this feature.
4. Exit and restart Office Outlook 2007.
On the Tools menu, point to Send/Receive, and then click Send All.
Turn Cached Exchange Mode off
1. On the Tools menu, clickAccount Settings.
2. On the E-mail tab, click the Exchange account, and then click Change.
3. Under Microsoft Exchange server, clear the Use Cached Exchange Mode check box.
4. Exit and restart Office Outlook 2007.
Sync Microsoft Outlook Tasks with iPhone:
1. Download and install the ToDo app on your iPhone through AppStore. http://www.apple.com/uk/downloads/
2. Setup synchronization with the ToodleDo Service. http://www.toodledo.com/
3. Download the ToodlDo Sync Application and run it along with Microsoft Outlook. http://www.chromadrake.com/ChromaticDragon/software/ToodledoSyncInfo.aspx
Automatically all your tasks will be synced across the iPhone, Cloud and Outlook.
1. If no contacts or calendar events may appear in Microsoft Outlook after syncing. This can occur during the initial sync if Outlook has never been opened on the computer or if you didn’t complete the setup wizard after opening Outlook.
Solution: Open Microsoft Outlook on the computer and complete the setup wizard to create a profile. After creating the profile, then perform another sync. The contacts and/or calendar events from the iPhone should now appear in Outlook.
2. Microsoft Outlook 2003/2007 may not display contacts and calendars without refreshing after syncing with MobileMe, iPhone, or iPod touch
When syncing Contacts or Calendars from MobileMe, an iPhone, or an iPod touch, to Outlook 2003 or Outlook 2007, changes that have been synced to your computer may not appear in Outlook even after the sync has been completed.
You will need to “refresh” Outlook. This can be done by following these steps:
1. If Outlook is running, quit and reopen it.
2. From the Go menu in Outlook, choose Folder List. Or, click the Folder icon in the lower left portion of the Outlook window.
3. In the folder view, expand your contacts and calendars. Your contacts groups and all your calendars should appear.
4. Click Calendars or Contacts again in the Outlook navigation window to return to your normal view. Your contacts or calendars should now appear.
If these steps do not resolve this issue, you may need to quit Outlook and reopen it again.
