The internet is a great place to exchange ideas. Over the many months i’ve been covering Twitter, talking about Twitter and using Twitter and getting to know twitter better. Someone I follow on twitter posted some great ideas on how to make money on twitter and other twitter tools. With Twitter becoming the quickest form of communication, it’s only natural for people to try to monetize it. I thought I would share them with you.
Direct Advertisement – If a lot of people are following you in ‘twitter’ or in other words if you have a ‘wide reach’ to a large number of twitter users, you can probably look into direct advertisements for monetization.
Recommendation – You can recommend a particular product or service on behalf of your advertisers & peruse your followers to take an ‘action’.
Promotion – You can help your advertiser to promote a new product or service to your twitter followers.
Paid Review– This is pretty much like the direct advertisement, however the only difference would be, instead of blindly suggesting a product or a service to someone, you can actually do some ‘paid reviews’.
Sponsored Contest– An advertiser may want to run a contest via a popular twitter user to get feedback about his product & services or just to create some brand awareness.
Pay-Per-Twitter Message — If there was a username called “NYChotelJobs” — any person looking for a hotel job in NYC could be a friend of this list, and be notified instantly of any new NYC hotel jobs. Where would those jobs come from?

Magpie- An Ad Network for twitter
Magpie is an ad network for Twitter. Twitterers allow them to post magpie tweets among their tweets and for them to get paid for it. Magpie is there to ensure that you can convert your tweets into pretty green. This is implemented in the following manner: customers register at the site and then create and launch campaigns that consist of tweet ads which appear between their regular tweets. These tweet ads are called magpie-tweets in the site’s parlance.
Twittad is a service that allows advertisers and Twitter users to come together. Twitter users place their background for sale on Twittad.com for 7 or 15 days, 1 or 3 months. Advertisers upload the advertisement into Templates that we provide them, purchase the background and the Twitter user gets paid.
