Diversity Best Practices, a subsidiary of Working Mother Media, has named three U.S. Siemens executives among the 2008 winners for its CEO Diversity Leadership Award. The awards will be presented at the 15th annual Diversity and Inclusion Leadership Summit and Gala in Washington, D.C., on November, 13, 2008.

Tony Affuso, Chairman and CEO of Siemens PLM Software, Dennis Sadlowski, President and CEO of Siemens Energy and Automation, and Randy Zwirn, President and CEO of Siemens Power Generation, will each accept the award for their diversity leadership within their Divisions, as well as across Siemens in the USA.

Candidates for these Diversity Leadership Awards showed emphasis in diversity through corporate initiatives and programs, and by taking a leading role in those initiatives to create a “Living Legacy.” “Affuso, Sadlowski, and Zwirn are actively involved in Siemens diversity initiatives and are outspoken advocates for diversity within their industries. Each demonstrates a keen enthusiasm for his leadership roles in enforcing diversity within Siemens,” stated George Nolen, CEO, Siemens Corporation.

“Over the course of the past two and a half years, Siemens diversity practices have attained a higher level of excellence due in no small part to the leadership and personal investment of time and energy on the part of Tony Affuso, Dennis Sadlowski and Randy Zwirn,” added Joe Santana, Senior Director of Diversity for Siemens.

“Diversity Best Practices is pleased to recognize Siemens’ CEOs for their contributions toward building a diverse and inclusive culture throughout the company,” said Gwendolyn Crider, Executive Director with Diversity Best Practices. “These leaders exemplify the type of senior-level vision, leadership and personal commitment that distinguish best companies and we applaud Siemens for its outstanding work in support of diversity and inclusion.”

In addition to the CEOs, Santana’s own outstanding efforts are being recognized with a Diversity Officer Leadership Award (DOLA). Honored along with Siemens will be AAA Northern California, Nevada & Utah, Campbell Soup Company, Deere & Company, The Procter & Gamble Company, Prudential Financial, Andrews Kurth LLP and Carlton Fields P.A. The companies and law firms are being recognized for their investment in diversity and inclusion programs and their innovative and positive responses to demographic shifts in the global workforce and marketplace.

In 2001, EDS, which was a majority shareholder in Unigraphics Solutions, acquired all outstanding shares of the company and merged it with the recently acquired Structural Dynamics Research Corporation (SDRC). In May 2007, Siemens AG acquired UGS, changed the company’s name to Siemens PLM Software and made it part of its Siemens Automation and Drives (A&D) division (now the Siemens Industry Sector).

Years of implementing strategies and technology, as well as hands-on engineering experience prepared Affuso to head Siemens PLM Software. His previous positions include:

* Manager of Advanced CAD/CAM Technology at Xerox where he successfully automated the design and tooling process in its copier divisions.

After earning his Bachelor of Science degree at Rochester Institute of Technology, Affuso began his career as a design engineer. He developed custom manufacturing automation systems for IBM and Cogar Corp.
