Nobel Biocare CEO Domenico Scala will stay!

By Amarendra Bhushan for CEOWORLD Magazine Updated:November 5, 2008

Swiss dental implant maker Nobel Biocare Holding AG said on Wednesday talk that chief executive Domenico Scala was to leave the company was unfounded.

“There are no indications that the chief executive will change,” a Nobel Biocare spokesman told Reuters.

Shares of the world’s largest maker of dental implants rose some 5 percent, outperforming an overall weaker Swiss market, with traders citing talk of a CEO change as a reason. The shares have fallen some 65 percent this year on disappointing results.

“Nobel has cancelled an event,” one trader said, adding that this had triggered speculation the CEO was about to leave or that the company could be taken over, with U.S. healthcare firm Johnson & Johnson (JNJ.N: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) (J&J) named as one candidate.
