RONAN O’CAOIMH to replace BRENDAN FARRELL at Trinity Biotech plc

Trinity Biotech plc , a leading developer and manufacturer of diagnostic products for the point-of-care and clinical laboratory markets, today announced that Mr. Ronan O’Caoimh, Executive Chairman, has agreed to resume the role of CEO. Mr. O’Caoimh will succeed Mr. Brendan Farrell, who has resigned with immediate effect, having served as Trinity Biotech’s President since 1994 and as CEO since November 2007. Ronan O’Caoimh commented, “I am hugely excited by this challenge and, given our product offering and development pipeline, am determined to deliver on our enormous potential for enhanced shareholder value.”

Trinity Biotech develops, acquires, manufactures and markets diagnostic systems, including both reagents and instrumentation, for the point-of-care and clinical laboratory segments of the diagnostic market. The products are used to detect infectious diseases and blood coagulation disorders, and to quantify the level of Haemoglobin A1c and other chemistry parameters in serum, plasma and whole blood. Trinity Biotech sells direct in the United States, Germany, France and the U.K. and through a network of international distributors and strategic partners in over 75 countries worldwide. CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER, co-founded Trinity Biotech in 1992 and acted as CFO until 1994 when he became CEO. Prior to joining Trinity, Mr. O’Caoimh was Managing Director of Noctech Limited, an Irish diagnostics company. Mr. O’Caoimh holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from University College, Dublin and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland.

BRENDAN FARRELL

joined Trinity Biotech in 1994. He was previously Marketing Director of B.M. Browne Limited, a company involved in the marketing and distribution of medical and diagnostic products. Prior to that he was CEO of Noctech Limited, following six years with Baxter Healthcare where he was Director of European Business Development. Mr Farrell has a Masters degree in Biochemistry from University College Cork.

RORY NEALON

CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER, joined Trinity Biotech in early 2003 from Conduit plc, a telecom services company where he was CFO. Previously Mr.Nealon was employed by Allied Irish Banks plc where he invested equity and short-term mezzaine finance into emerging growth companies. Mr. Nealon holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from University College Dublin, is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland, the Institute of Taxation in Ireland and the U.K. Institute of Corporate Treasurers.
