Career Advancement: Most And Least Confident Countries In the Asia Pacific, 2018

Interestingly, Indonesia took the number one spot in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region in the LinkedIn Opportunity Index with a strong desire for career advancement, developing new skills, and entrepreneurship.

India, the 3rd largest startup economy in the world, claimed the number two spot in the ranking. Nearly 2 out of 3 Indians (62%) are optimistic about the general economic situation improving in the next 12 months, and 70% of Indians are confident about finding better opportunities.

China took the 3rd spot, while the Philippines was at the 4th place in the ranking, Malaysia in 5th place, and Singapore in 6th place.

On the other hand, the more developed nations such as Japan, Hong Kong, and Australia trail on the Index as people in these markets expressed concerns over the economic outlook and generally felt less confident of finding better opportunities next year.

It also suggested that people from developing countries were more optimistic about the opportunities they had in the future, compared to people from developed nations.
