Report: Facebook’s Annual Revenue From 2009 To 2018

Advertising on Facebook

Despite controversy after controversy, in its fourth-quarter earnings report for 2018, Facebook revealed just how well it did. The social media giant has reached another milestone: $50 billion in annual revenue.

In 2018, Facebook’s revenue amounted to 55.8 billion, up from $40.6 billion in 2017. The majority of Facebook’s revenues are generated through advertising – advertising revenue amounted to close to $55 billion whereas payments and other fees revenues amounted to $825 million in 2018.

Advertisers are routinely drawn to the social media giant’s massive reach (some 2.3 billion monthly active users) and its not-so-secret targeted ad strategy. Facebook’s market capitalization at the end of January was some $480 billion, making it one of the most valuable companies in the world.
