What’s the world’s busiest airline route by passenger numbers, 2017?

With a staggering 13.5 million passenger journeys, the busiest flight path on Earth, according to OAG, is the 450-kilometer hop from Seoul’s Gimpo International Airport to the island of Jeju; by comparison, less than 3 million traveled between New York’s JFK and London’s Heathrow.

With 9.1 million passengers, second on its list of the world’s busiest airline route by passenger numbers is Melbourne to Sydney Kingsford Smith, while third place goes to Sapporo to Tokyo Haneda, with 8.7 million passengers.
