The 2018 Academic Ranking of World Universities Are Out And Harvard, Stanford, Cambridge, MIT, Berkeley Tops Again

Harvard University has once again been ranked number one in the World by a prestigious global ranking firm. Harvard held onto its first place ranking in the 2018 edition of the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) – a position the U.S. institution has occupied for the past 16 years.

The top ten rankings remained the same as the 2017 edition of the list, with Harvard University and Stanford University in the United States taking the top two spots, respectively, followed by UK’s University of Cambridge. Every year more than 1,200 universities are ranked by ARWU, with the best 500 being published. The league table was launched in 2003. Eight of the top 10 schools worldwide are from the United States. The UK’s Oxford and Cambridge also make that list.
