A national nonprofit that works to create a safer environment for LGBTQ students has ranked Augsburg University number one among the “Best of the Best” LGBTQ-friendly universities in the United States.
The 2017 2017 Campus Pride Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Questioning-Friendly Campus Climate Index highlights the top college or university in each state that has succeeded in creating an inclusive and educational environment for students who identify as LGBTQ.
Campus Pride works alongside students, faculty, staff, and administrators at more than 1,400 campuses to help support and improve the quality of campus life for LGBTQ people.
To be in the top 25 listing, an institution had to score the highest percentages in the LGBTQ-friendly benchmarks. Other institutions in the ranking include Princeton, San Diego State University, Washington State University, and the University of Pennsylvania.
