The 25 Best European Universities 2018, US News Rankings

University of Oxford has been named as the Europe’s best university in the latest best global universities rankings 2018 compiled by US News and World Report. The US News Best Global Universities Rankings list 1‚250 institutions across 74 nations — up from the top 1‚000 colleges and universities in 65 countries ranked last year.

In total, 514 of them are universities in Europe. A U.K. university – The University of Oxford – takes the top spot in Europe ranking, while 74 other UK universities appear in the league table, many of them within the top 100.

Of the universities in mainland Europe, a Swiss institution – Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich – achieves the highest rank, making it into the top 10 in Europe and the top 25 in the world.

The top 10 European universities include UK, Swiss, Danish, French, and German and institutions, but UK universities take most of the top spots.

Universities in the United States dominated this year’s ranking – 16 of the top 20 highest-placed institutions, including the top-4, were in the US.

Prof. Dr. Amarendra Bhushan Dhiraj is a publishing executive and economist who is the CEO and editor-in-chief of The CEOWORLD magazine, one of the world’s most influential and recognized global news publications.
