Which 19 Cities Have The Most Top-Ranked Universities, 2017?

Thanks to its impressive number of internationally ranked elite institutions, the sprawling metropolis of London and Los Angeles tie in first place with four top-ranked universities found in both cities.

In order to find out which cities around the world has the most top-ranked universities in them, we used the data from 2017 edition of the World University Ranking of Times Higher Education.

Hong Kong, Berlin, and Boston/Cambridge occupy the 2nd place with 3 top-ranked universities in them.

Third place, on the other hand, is shared by 14 cities which have 2 top-ranked universities found in each city.

These 14 cities include Singapore, Beijing, New York, Atlanta, Durham/Chapel Hill, Chicago, Pittsburgh, Melbourne, Sydney, Liege, Utrecht, Stockholm, Munich, and the Hague.
