The Greek island of Santorini has been named the best island in Europe for 2016, according to the TripAdvisor, the travel planning and booking site, followed by the Spanish holiday island of Majorca, and Madeira in Portugal.
Crete, Greece took home the No. 4 spot and Spain’s Tenerife — rounded out the top five in the european rankings, while Maui was named the best island in the world this year.
In the Europe category, sixth place went to Greece’s Island of Rhodes while Spain’s Gran Canaria was seventh, the French island of Corsica was eighth, Jersey, the largest of the Channel Islands, was ninth and Italy’s Island of Capri was 10th.
