World’s top 25 universities under the age of 50, 2015 rankings

The Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore ranked No. 1 in the world among institutions under the age of 50, according to the latest Quacquarelli Symbols (QS) World University Rankings for the second year running.

The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) ranks second with an overall score of 88 points compared to NTU’s 93.9 points. Occupying the third spot of the rankings is Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), which was founded in 1971, was followed by City University of Hong Kong (4th in the world) and South Korea’ Pohang University of Science And Technology -POSTECH (5th in the world).

The list highlights the world’s top 50 universities established in the last 50 years, on the basis of six indicators: academic reputation (40%); employer reputation (10%); faculty student ratio (20%); citations per faculty (20%); international students (5%); and international faculty (5%).

Prof. Dr. Amarendra Bhushan Dhiraj is a publishing executive and economist who is the CEO and editor-in-chief of The CEOWORLD magazine, one of the world’s most influential and recognized global news publications.
