Who Is The World’s Most Powerful Person: 2015 Top 10 List?
Interestingly, the Russian President Vladimir Putin has been named as the most powerful person in the world, in a new list published by financial magazine Forbes. German chancellor Angela Merkel takes second spot on the 2015 list of the world’s most powerful people, leaving United States President Barack Obama in third place.
It is the first time a sitting United States President President has not made one of the top two spots. Meanwhile, Pope Francis has retained his fourth place on the list and the Chinese President Xi Jinping is at number five, having fallen two places.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been ranked as the world’s ninth most powerful person, up six places from last year when he was at number 15. Apart from Modi who is at the ninth position, others in the top 10 are Bill Gates at the sixth place, US Federal Reserve Chairperson Janet Yellen (No. 7), British prime minister David Cameron (No. 8) and Google’s Larry Page(No. 10).
