What Salaries Top 15 Highest Paid Woman CEOs Received In 2014: Female CEOs Pay?

The aerospace and defense giant, Lockheed-Martin chief Marillyn A. Hewson was the highest-paid woman in the Wall Street Journal’s annual pay rankings, coming in at No. 11 on the overall list with a compensation package valued at $33.7 million, up 34% from a year earlier.

Surprise! The Highest Paid CEOs are often a bunch of men. But this year – Female CEOs smashed The Corporate Glass Ceiling.

Notably, 15 of the 300 companies surveyed had female CEOs, meanwhile 3 of the 15 highest-paid woman CEOs earned less than the median pay of $13.6 million.

The highest-paid woman CEO in the previous year’s rankings, Carol Meyrowitz, dropped to the 2nd spot.

The next 2 highest-paid female CEOs after Carol Meyrowitz are PepsiCo’s Indra Nooyi, whose total compensation for 2014 was valued at $22.5 million and Xerox’s Ursula Burns, whose was valued at $22.2 million.

General Motors CEO Mary Barra earned $16.2 million in her first year at the helm, a pay package that was 80% higher than her predecessor’s $9 million 2013 pay. Notably, GM said early last year that Mary Barra would make about $14.4 million in 2014.

Note: Journal’s annual pay survey, conducted by the consultancy Hay Group, analyzed the compensation for CEOs at 300 large companies with at least $9.1 billion in revenue. Overall, total compensation for the 300 CEOs in the Journal’s survey rose by a median of 13.5% to about $13.6 million.
