What got discussed the most on Facebook in 2014?

Facebook has released the figures of the most-talked about topics in 2014. Worldwide topics – the 2014 FIFA World Cup soccer tournament and the Ebola virus outbreak in West Africa – occupied the top two spots. But No. 3 was the presidential election in Brazil, according to Facebook.

The tragic death of Robin Williams on August 11 came in 4th most discussed topic on the list, that have got its 1.3 billion users talking on the social network.

IT’S been a year of massive events, the social media platform, too, had an eventful 2014.

The company founded in a Harvard dorm room turned ten this year, “and that’s clearly a really big deal,” Sheryl Sandberg, Facebook’s chief operating officer said.

Beyoncé led the list of most-discussed entertainers in the U.S., followed by Pharrell Williams, Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift.  India’s general election was the hottest topic in that nation, Facebook said, with the Indian Premier League of cricket second.
