The 50 Wealthiest People In China List: Richest Billionaires in 2014

Chinese tech billionaires account for 5 of China’s top 10 wealthiest people, Alibaba founder and CEO Jack Ma Yun has become the country’s wealthiest man with a fortune estimated at $25 billion, according to the Hurun China Super-Rich List 2014.

The other 2 new entrants were Lei Jun, founder of Xiaomi Technology in 10th place with US$7.5 billion, and Richard Liu Qiangdong of JD.com at ninth place with US$8.8 billion.

They joined Robin Li, co-founder of Chinese search group Baidu, and Pony Ma, founder of Alibaba arch-rival Tencent Holdings Ltd in fifth place with a personal wealth of US$18.1 billion, both of whom were included in the top 10 last year.

Jack Ma Yun founder of Alibaba, Taobao and Alipay, 3 of China’s leading e-commerce firms, entered the top 10 list of richest people in China for the first time, Wang Jianlin, who runs real estate giant Wanda Group, slipped to second,  with a fortune of $24.2 billion.
